THE SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL is the expansionist dream of Sonny (Dev Patel), and it’s making more claims on his time than he has available, considering his imminent marriage to the love of his life, Sunaina (Tina Desai).  Sonny has his eye on a promising property now that his first venture, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful, has only a single remaining vacancy – posing a rooming predicament for fresh arrivals Guy (Richard Gere) and Lavinia (Tamsin Greig). Evelyn and Douglas (Judi Dench and Bill Nighy) have now joined the Jaipur workforce, and are wondering where their regular dates for Chilla pancakes will lead, while Norman and Carol (Ronald Pickup and Diana Hardcastle) are negotiating the tricky waters of an exclusive relationship, as Madge (Celia Imrie) juggles two eligible and very wealthy suitors. Perhaps the only one who may know the answers is newly installed co-manager of the hotel, Muriel (Maggie Smith), the keeper of everyone’s secrets. As the demands of a traditional Indian wedding threaten to engulf them all, an unexpected way forward presents itself.

  7. The most exotic place I’ve visited was Jamaica. My hubby and I went over Christmas and New Years before our son was born. We had the most amazing time 🙂

  8. The most exotic place I have visited would have to be Mahogany Bay. We got to hold a blind alligator, a jaguar peed on me (I was invading his space…outside of the cage, of course!!), and watch a walrus play tricks!

  22. I have never been anywhere exotic before. Only places that come close is Myrtle Beach and Florida.

  55. The most exotic place I have visited is the Bellagio in Las Vegas. I have traveled all over the US, parts of Canada, and just across the border into Mexico. I have seen a lot of beautiful places, however, the question was for the “most exotic” place…and the Bellagio is indeed exotic. With the extensive Mediterranean decor, the fabulous international dining experiences, the unbelievable spa, and the fantastic courtyard seasonal garden displays, I never had to leave the resort! Oh, did I mention the award-winning casino and AAA Five Diamond hotel? A week at the Bellagio was like living another life…I truly did not want to go back to my real life. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, don’t miss it – even if you don’t stay there, you should walk through and see the beautiful glass art and the courtyard (there is an awesome butterfly house!). I would go back, in a heartbeat. Can I afford to do it again? Probably never 🙂

  58. Probably the Isle of Capri in Italy — it felt like another world altogether and was breathtakingly picturesque.

  91. This sounds like such a great movie. I would have to say the most exotic would have to be Puerto Rico. Although I would love to go to Bora Bora!

  95. I have not been to a real ‘exotic’ place. My aunt took me to see how the pueblo indians lived in Colorado, that’s as exotic as I’ve ever been. Loved it, though!

  142. Probably the islands off the highland coast of Scotland. You wouldn’t think its very exotic, until you’ve been there.
