Nest Full of New

There aren’t too many things that can top the amazing milestones of your baby’s first year. One of my favorites?  The first smile and first laugh. We felt like stand-up comics trying to coax that grin and giggle, but there’s nothing like the sound of a laughing baby.

Nearly as amazing is their first full night’s sleep (and every single one after that!)

Rounding out the top ten –

3. First tooth. This one is often a challenge, but so exciting when you finally see it!

4. First time to sit up.  This always leads to the first time to tip over.

5. First time to hold a bottle.

6. Blowing kisses/waving – DH would rather this was “first high five,” but I didn’t think it was quite ready for the Top Ten!

7. Crawling.  Mobility…a blessing and a curse!

8. First word(s) – As much as I hoped for this to be “mama,” her first word was “baboo” for Big Bird.

9. First gestures.  I’m not sure if “more” or “all done” came first.  It could go either way!

10. And, of course, first steps.
