Guest Post – Decorating with Pops of Navy #DailyDoseofDesign

I’m so excited to be traveling with my daughter in May!  During my absence, I’m very fortunate that my friend Adriana from Daily Dose of Design  has agreed to be a guest writer on the Nest.  She’s a fabulous, energetic and creative designer who shares an amazing variety of fashion, interior, digital and graphic design on her blog. Be sure to visit and connect with her on social media (links at the end.) Daily Dose of Design is a blog you’ll want to read every day!

Check out these lovely navy-based palettes that will freshen up your next room makeover.

decorating with pops of navy
As I’m working on redecorating some rooms in my house, I’ve been noticing a lot of navy lately – and I’m loving it! Whether it’s a navy painted accent wall, navy bedding or throw pillows, a navy patterned rug or some décor with pops of navy in the piece, incorporating navy seems like a wonderful idea! Especially if it’s paired with lighter colors – it can really make a difference in the depth that the room has.

I also love the idea of a navy colored front door (see above collage). I’ve never thought to go so bold, but I’m loving the way it looks!

There are so many themes that can be created using navy.  Some of my favorites are:

I hope these pictures help give some inspiration if you’re looking to incorporate navy into a room in your home! Navy is a color that can be used in many different ways and is a timeless color – no matter what you’re using it with. Enjoy!!!

*All pictures used were found on Pinterest or created on Magnet Street, with the exception of the pillows and bedding sets, which are from Pottery Barn!
