(ENDED) Febreze Called Us #Noseblind – What?! (#Giveaway with $60 AMEX)

 That’s right. Febreze said we’re noseblind, and sent us some of their products to prove it. I wasn’t sure if I should be offended or not, but I was game. Let’s do this.

What Is Noseblind?

“The gradual acclimation to the smells of one’s home, car, or belongings, in which the affected does not notice them (even though their guests do).”

 Right off the bat, I think Febreze has the advantage. We have a partially housebroken dachshund and two cats. My husband accuses me of constantly thinking I smell the litter box, but he swears there’s nothing there. Also, we recently had our 12 year-old living room carpet replaced with laminate floor. When our daughter came home for college for the weekend and saw it for the first time, she immediately said “…and it doesn’t smell like dog in here anymore.” Oh my gosh…am I noseblind?

Febreze suggested the very scientific, and pretty yummy, Popcorn Test.  I kicked out the hubby for the evening (he didn’t complain – he went to a ball game) and invited a couple of my girlfriends over to watch one of my favorite movies, “Grease.”   The girls and I each took a quick survey about what they could smell in my house.  They did say they could smell dog – I was ready for that – but they also said shoes and onions. Holy moly! *so embarrassed*  I quickly distracted them with some of these super easy Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookie Bars and made some fresh, buttery popcorn to cover the onion feet smell.   If we weren’t good friends, I’d be horrified, but I rolled with it.  Fine.

Another survey just before the movie began to confirm that we could smell pretty much nothing but popcorn. I don’t know about you, but I love the smell of popcorn. Can Febreze put that in spray?!

Several bags of popcorn later and we had safely sent Danny and Sandy off in their flying car, and it was time for another survey. Now how did things smell?  Well, truth be told, we all thought things still smelled of popcorn, but not much.  Like, you know popcorn has been in the immediate area, but you’re not sure when or how much. Definitely no feet or onions now!

After spraying the Febreze and lighting the Febreze candle, we went downstairs for while to have a cocktail cookie or two. When we went back up to the living room, amazingly, all we could smell was fresh. It was pretty awesome. This happened because Febreze contains a molecule known as Cyclodextrin that traps and eliminates the bad odors and leaves behind a pleasant scent. Febreze gives me the confidence to be ready for guests on a moment’s notice! No worries about litter box or food odors. OK, Febreze was right – we really were noseblind.

  8. I would love to try the Febreze with Gain! I’ve always loved Gain and I imagine the combo of Gain and Febreze would be amazing for eliminating odors!

  11. I would like to try the Vanilla & Moonlight. I love Vanilla. Sweet grapefruit, cinnamon, and floral spice have been added to it so it might be very interesting!
