Simple Sesame Noodles

I just adore Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman.  She’s exceptionally creative and seems so genuine. Not to mention all the amazing food she prepares (along with their equally amazing photos.)  When I ran across her recipe for Simple Sesame Noodles, I knew this was the next installation in my Ripped From Pinterest series.  Its so hard to replicate the flavor of authentic sesame noodles and I had every confidence in Ree.  And I believe her when she says something is “simple.”  So, with yet another willing bunch of taste testers – courtesy of Football Sunday at our house – I set out to try to recreate Ree Drummond’s Simple Sesame Noodles.

 Simple Sesame Noodles

Prep Time: 10 minutes   Cook Time:  10 minutes     Serves: 6-8

Sesame Noodles Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Thin Noodles, Cooked And Drained
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoons Pure Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Hot Chili Oil
  • 4 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 4 whole Green Onions, Sliced Thin

Preparation Instructions

Simple Sesame NoodlesWhisk all ingredients (except noodles and green onions) together in a bowl. Taste and adjust ingredients as needed.
Pour sauce over warm noodles and toss to coat.
Sprinkle with green onions and toss.Serve as is or alongside a nice Asian seasoned grilled tri-tip or chicken.  These noodles are also yummy tossed with steamed broccoli,  snow peas and or bite-sized pieces of grilled/roasted asparagus.  The Verdict:  These truly were SIMPLE and tasted delicious. Even the football crew gobbled them up with no regard for manners…so much slurping and sucking up noodles!  I will make this again and serve it as a side dish.  Maybe with some shredded chicken mixed in to absorb some of the yummy sauce that gets left behind at the bottom of the bowl. Queen Ree does it again!

  1. When I saw this linked up, I knew I was going to come and look at it! My husband is half Vietnamese, and we love Chinese/Asian food. So I was excited that it was one I have to pin anyway! I’ll have to buy a couple of ingredients, but I’m pinning these to my own boards as well as to the Bloggers Brags board! Thanks for linking up with the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Party.
